Madrid Highlights Diversity and Coexistence

A new gathering in Madrid united faith communities, cultural voices and social actors to mark the World Day for Cultural Diversity. The event, hosted by Fundación Mejora at the national headquarters of Scientology in Madrid, highlighted education, prevention and dialogue as tools against prejudice. The dialogue included Clarisa Nieva of the Bahá’í Community of Spain, Fernando Hernández of the Madrid Municipal Police Diversity Management Unit, flamenco artist Tito Losada, and Denise González. Speakers shared different experiences and viewpoints on how mutual knowledge can help build more inclusive communities.

During the event, participants considered themes such as human rights, cultural identity and respect for differences. Fundación Mejora framed the initiative with Scientology’s focus on human dignity and social betterment. Ivan Arjona, representative of the Church of Scientology to European and international institutions, noted that cultural and religious diversity contributes to democratic life when rooted in respect for human rights.
